Let’s take a moment to talk about the infamous family that everyone knows. I’ve been planning on writing a blog on this topic for quite some time, and definitely what has pushed me to write it today is because, as you may or may not be aware, Kim has released her first make up line earlier this week and has have seen so many ridiculous comments about not only the line, but her/her family, some things even as calling the family “nothing but a cancer to society.”
Right, I am going to stop you RIGHT. FUCKING. THERE. Ever single member of that family is an ICON in their own way. Whether it be Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, Kim, Kylie, Kris and lets not forget Rob. Every single one of them, in my eyes, deserve icon status.
Originally I was going to write about the family in one whole post, but, I eventually decided that I would do one post per person, a sort of on going segment if you will.
Every single day, this family and pretty much most celebrities get a ridiculous amount of hate. Comments such as “this entire family are nothing but a cancer to society” or “It amazes me how conceded an entire family can actually be”
Sorry but I think that so many people are just mistaking this for them just being confident in who they are. And also, what the absolute hell is wrong with being a little bit conceded. If you have a piece of your body that you’re really proud of, you flaunt that to absolute no end cause no matter what anyone else thinks or says, if you’re proud of your body, thats the biggest achievement and no one can take that away from you!
Everyone seems to think that this family is just famous for absolutely nothing. That could not be further from the truth. They have all built themselves from the ground up and it has taken them a very long time to get to where they are now!
So, Kim Kardashian. She is arguably the most famous of the sisters, especially in early years of their respective careers. But I feel that a lot of people seem to forget that she started as a stylist to Paris Hilton way back when. Yes they were also friends and yes they were probably friends because of being in a same sort of circles due to Kim having a famous lawyer father and an Olympian Step-father, so naturally, they would be at exclusive parties and would have met. But this isn’t about Paris, not completely, but yes, thats where Kim started.
Obviously we all know about the infamous sex tape. Don’t pretend you don’t know what one I’m talking about, I know you do. Yes there was a sex tape leaked back in 2007 between Kim and Ray J. It baffles me how people still bring this up and say thats all she’s famous for. Sorry but what a load of bull. I actually commend Kim to the highest degree for how she dealt with the whole situation, like I know if it was me and I had a sex tape and it leaked I would probably never leave the house again. But to not only have it released when you’re already in the public eye, but to deal with it with such grace and not let it stop her from working so freaking hard on everything she does to get to the place she’s at now, it really is something to be commended.
People also seem to forget that way back when, after being stylist to Paris, Kim opened a clothing store alongside Khloe and Kourtney. Thats a real achievement. And sure after a while the reality show started, because good ol’ Kris constructed a deal with E! but for starters like the family weren’t THAT famous back then so I bet they didn’t even think the show would be a success to to start with, but also, imagine agreeing to allow a camera crew to follow you about all day long, like I’m sure many of you would definitely not like that, so it takes a really comfortable person to allow that to happen.
Since then Kim has went on to do so many things, one thing that I like to take note of and I definitely don’t think people know enough about is her advocacy for Armenia. Herself, alongside Kourtney and Khloe, are all of Armenian decent on their dads side. Back in if I remember correctly either 1914 or 1915 began the Armenian Genocide, that took the lives of 1.5 million Armenian’s. There are many countries that try to dispute this fact, claiming that it was not genocide but mass murder. This is still a horrible act, which is why this genocide is the second most studied case of genocide, after the Holocaust. Kim was and still is a MAJOR advocate in trying to get America to officially recognise it as a genocide, even meeting with Obama when he was in office, along with the USA government, and she also wrote an article condemning The Wall Street Journal as they ran advertisement denying the genocide. Truely, that is an amazing thing to advocate for.
Along with all that she is following in Kylie’s footsteps and has just released a makeup line which sold out completely in 20 minutes. Its absolutely crazy to think that happened but having such a major presence in social media and within the world of makeup and beauty, it is definitely not surprising.
Now just to briefly touch on the Paris Incident. I honestly just do not understand how for something as unfathomable as that, why people would give her hate. Why would anyone make up such a story about such an event that clearly traumatised her. She is an immensely strong woman for going through something like that, and then having to deal with the backlash that she got for so long after. Thats the end of that.
In my opinion, I think Kim is a brilliant role model for people. Not only is she a role model for working hard and being an immensely good business woman that has spent the better part of a decade working immensely hard to make such a name for herself worldwide, something that not many people could do, but also, she is a role model for girls. She embraces her body and she embraces her curves and she isn’t afraid to show it because at the end of the day, she’s comfortable in her own skin enough to post it all over the internet. Now I know people out there will say “oh yeah but she’s had work done to make herself look better” Yeah so what? If you had the money, is there nothing you would change? There is definitely one or two things I would change if I could afford to, believe me. If you’re comfortable enough with yourself then why shouldn’t you want to flaunt it. People constantly let society tell them that looking a certain way or posting a bit too much skin online deems you as a whore or a slut or doing it for attention. Follow Kim’s footsteps and give absolutely zero fucks. Don’t let society tell you what you can and can’t post or what you can or can’t do! If people don’t like what they see, they know where the unfollow button is. As long as you’re happy thats all that matters.
Now please remember that these are all my own opinions. Whether you agree or not thats your prerogative, but I definitely don’t think she deserves all of the ridicules hate that she gets. What are your opinions? Have they changed after reading this article?
